HAHAHAHAHAHA! Sorry, couldnt help it. Parts for the buicks from those years are increadibly hard to find. My mother has been looking for good parts since 88 for her 70 lesabre. Look up a place called the Buick Farm. They usually have some parts for the rare engines. Maybe theyll have a block.

Allright, heres my take on it. During the late 60s-early 70s buicks were not considered valuable or even popular. As they had an image of the squishy upscale family-type car, no one wanted them for HP or hot rodding. As such, they got used, and sent off to the junkyard. Many of the Buicks from that generation had 350s, some with 2v per and some with 4v per cylinder. Your 430 is not a common block, and due to the gobs of torque to old buick blocks liked to make, they were beat into the dirt. Think of a kid with 500 ft-lbs for 800$. Not a good combo. As such, they were trashed on the streets then sent to the yard. Try rebuiltautoengines.com They seem to have 455s rebuilt, maybe you can get a 430. Also try Jasper. they seem to find some strange engines. Sorry, but thats all i can tell you.

I think I know where one is,a junkyard I frequent has a 68 lesabre that has been hit in the front and has a almost complete motor in it minus the carb but its been sitting there for around 20 years and would be stuck.

drg84- Thanks for the info. Maybe explains the reason there is a big hole in the side of the block.

junkyardjeff- If you think about it next time your at the yard, inquire about the block and maybe the price getting it shipped to Illinois.

    Thanks a bunch guys!!!

    Buick 430

I have a 1967 Electra that I inherited when I bought my house. It has a 430 in it. Not sure what it is worth. It runs great and shows lots of life on the road.

    I am in Il.
