Your 40" limit is the combined seat measurement, and not the maximum installed width, door panel to door panel, right? I have Fiero seats and you can see them in my build thread, Followed Me Home, '33 Build if you want, but they do not come with power actuators or integral seat belts. They measure 19.5" wide, and my total installed width is ~42" and that's snug. Headrest speakers were only in some of the later seats, but they can be added easily - mine had one with speakers and one without, someone had obviously swapped out one seat earlier - and I replaced/added them during the recovering process. Fiero seats are ideal for low profile situations - they sit very low to the floor, which I don't believe is a need in your '40.Last edited by rspears; 01-12-2012 at 05:41 AM.

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

What about seats from a newer GM Grand Am? I've been looking at putting a set of these in my 40 soon.Ryan
