    ford 4spd. shifter

     



    hi..i have a 65 ford toploader i need a shifter for..i have a hurst shifter but i think it is for a chevy and i need one for a ford..thanks..R.C.
    if you cant run with the big dogs
    then stay on the porch

    The shifter is the same for all the transmissions, you need a different installation kit...it consists of the mount plate and rods.

    well i guess i should look around for that ford install kit..not in a hurry right now the ford has been put in the back of the line..i started on my caddy build and want to get it finished so i can use it to tow my trailer..

    B & M used to sell some great shifters for those Mustangs.
    They where spring loaded and would pull straite back for second but when you pushed it forward it would be forced over in to third buy a big spring so you won't miss a gear when speed shifting. I used to buy them thru Super Shops back when. Not sure who you would have to go thru now to get them though. Maybe Summit.

    yes the shifter handles are the same, the mounting plate and linkages would be different depending on trans.
    ive got a hurst, just bought a factory shifter.
