    1934 Ford Grille Insert

Looking for an quality grille insert for a steel shell 1934 Ford Tudor. Has anyone had any luck with some of the vendors here? Such as:
    http://www.hergrilles.com/
    http://www.alumicraft.com/Alumicraft...32,_33,_x.html
    http://www.hotrodproducts.com/grille_inserts.htm

Do these just attach inside my existing shell or do they have to be welded in?

    thanks!
    Bart

Is the 33 grille the same as the 34? I thought there were some differences. TY

No, 33 and 34 are different, though Nottingham's piece is very nice.

Bart, you need to put some pics of your car in your gallery so we can access them by clicking the camera icon under your name. I had to search back a ways to find some of the pics you put up...........not a complaint, just a suggestion to make it easier for folks to help.

Those three are inserts intended for either fiberglass shells or stockers that have the bar portion cut out (as you probably know the original is one piece stamping, well, accept for the bracing inside). Of the three, Fink is probably the best, though I've not heard complaints about the others. They're each made of aluminum or stainless so welding them to your steel outer shell wouldn't be practical. By the time you paid for the insert and had the deal replated (unless you intent to paint the outer), you'd be up to the cost of the repop original style. If you went that way you'd make a mechanical mounting system. Drake makes a pretty nice repop '34 grille you might want to look at.

It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.

Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.

Thanks for the advice on the Gallery (and Grille!). Added pics in the gallery... mostly "Before" pics, already replaced exterior mirrors and had body work done to repair damaged fender, rust spots. Having pinstripping refreshed on president's day (hand stripped). Working on brakes and suspension next couple of weeks, then interior. Doing red vinyl seats with gray tweed inserts, 50/50 bench in rear. 3 point belts in gray for front seats, center console on floor in red vinyl and tweed to match. Considering replacing B&M shifter with Lokar, but uncertain yet.

    Update:
Sent my steel shell to alumicraft for a 3/8" insert! Whoopee! In 4 to six weeks will post a pic of the completed job!

Got her back! Looks nice, but, for some reason it seems a little different in shape and was a real battle to reinstall. More on it after I pull it back off this weekend and see what's going on.
