WTB Martin Turbo Intake for Small Block Mopar 340 CI

I am looking to purchase a Martin Turbo Engineering Draw-Through Turbo Intake manifold for Small Block Chrysler 340CI.

This was a dual level manifold with flapper plates under the floor and permitted a carburated configuration without a bonnett.

Anyone out there have one or know where I might get one?

    Thanks in advance,

    Lou

    Hi Lou,

That's a tough order. Small block chevy, yes. Small block chrysler, errrggghhhh. I'll check with my buddies as we come across some strange stuff sometimes, but that may be just one of those things you find by luck.

I do have small block chevy Martin intakes though....not that it will do you much good, huh?

TJ..thanks...I had been in touch Martin years ago, still have the catalog, but i was overseas and did not have the resource to do the project then.

I had at one time, the name of the company that bought out the martin stock but have since lost that info.

I actually am looking just for the intake and the plenums that connect from the intake to the turbo. I intend to use a centrifugal supercharger similar to the procharger DSC1 ...

Thanks in advance for your reply...

ps... don't know about putting a SBC in my Challenger though... :-)

The other option might ultimatly be to take the top section from an SBC intake and then have a custom lower section fabricated....

    Hey Lou,

I was planning exactly the same thing. That's how I originally started looking for Martin equipment. I had a P600b that I wanted to use the the intake for a SBC. In my original search, I found a bunch of intakes...but all for chevy's. As you probably already know, there were about 3 basic styles. A "low profile" style where the turbo was perpendicular to the engine. The second style had the turbo "twisted" on the exhaust manifold (which was perfect for the setup you described for a centrafugul supercharger due to the large "twisted" intake tub). The last was a remote mount turbo that fit further down on the exhaust pipe. These had a different top section where the inlet and outlet tubes were cast into the top plate. Also not bad for the supercharger, but the tubes point near the firewall instead of toward the radiator. Would need some fancy tube work. I have all three styles, but again for chevy. I even heard that Martin started offering a special intake just for what you described that pointed the inlet and outlet tubes toward the front of the engine to connect into the supercharger, although I have not been able to confirm that.

You know, if you find one for a chrysler that would be cool...but if it is too much trouble (and probably cost prohibitive), you could use the hat. Ya, I know, you have to modify the carb (and I don't like the idea of pressuring my carb), but it may be easier than trying to find or make such a scarce part. I'd be interested in your success. I'll keep my eyes out also. Let me know if you need info on carb mods if you go that route or if you need some parts for a custom fabrication.

    TJ
