Check out Ebay. They have thousands of plate auctions every week (I'm working on a run of 1964 plates). Along with that, check out the Automobile License Plate Collectors Association (ALPCA) website. They list the local collectors meets. You can find just about anything you'd want in terms of licence plates.

You also might want to check out Central Castings for reproductions of license plate toppers, depending on the style of your car.
