I would suggest you get a trans with the '39 and later gear set. They sure shift better and are quieter.The gears can be put in the earlier case but the later top with the 91A shift fork must be used. I tried to make the early top shift the later gears and it was a disaster. You can get an open drive trans from a truck also.
