Noticed on your other post that you label you car street/strip.....
If you put a stock (cheap) powerglide in your car, you wont be improving your strip times....unless you already have a PG and it is broken!!! For the PG to be effective, it costs $$$ (using the restaurant guide of $ signs). A nice glide costs over $3K for a strip ready version that isnt streetable. You'd be better off with a low first gear automatic like a 700R (3.08 first gear) that has an overdrive for mileage on the street. That way, you could run fairly low gears and keep it driveable.
