I sent away and got a set of plans for a rottisseri from a guy who owns a structual steel company, and happens to be a gear head. He had his engineering department draw up the plans and then had the unit stress tested to 6000 pounds. So I purchased the plans and went to a steel company and gave then the cut sheet from the plans and had them cut out all the pieces from .188 thick steel. Then I welded it all together using a 220 volt mig welder with .030 wire. I have 25 years into welding. The rottisseri has baloon tires and I used it once.
