that is why i do not care to use them on mark 4 bbc they work but you only drill as deep as you need for the bolt and no more . i have four bolt454 bbc engines that i will sell if you need one.from your photo looks like one of your long bolts bottom out in the block as well ?.you could try to sell them on Ebay i am a buyer at $40. for 4 bolt Gm caps you may get more then that if used but that would be my offerLast edited by pat mccarthy; 09-30-2011 at 02:34 PM.
