One bolts onto the front face of the motor and one bolts onto the rear face of the motor. Then the ends of the plates bolt to the frame or frame structure. These are normally used only in racing applications. The vibrations generated would vibrate your teeth out in a street application. That's why we normally mount our motors and transmissions in rubber.
