New 64-283 shortblock for sale- others
Several years ago I bought a new 64 shortblock still in the crate. It still had the can of GM breakin additive and I still have it to this day. It was in the parts warehouse of an old Chevy dealer that sold out and moved. It has some surface rust, has proberly had rat pee on it. It would need to be disassembled and cleaned up throughly. When I bought it I was hoping it was a 327. the build date was right for my car. If it had been a 327 thats the motor I would build. If you know anyone who needs a numbers matching 283 I will take $400 for it. Thanks I also have 327 small journal steel cranks, early 60s Intakes, 4 bolt 350 blocks, 462 heads and any number of small block parts. I have a 67 -396 block bored 060, plate honed with new cam bearings, a 427 steel crank std. Thanks again
