    '59 Mercedes Body

     



    Pretty solid 1959 mercedes 4 door body with 4 wheel independent suspension. Looks pretty cool for a custom project. $750 or best offer. Located in Rockford, Il.

    What model no. ?? Diesel or gas?? They are known as Pontons. I have a 1960 180 series(4 cylinder) not fast!. TUFF as nails. I am told they are still used as taxi's overseas.

    I'm not sure of the model number...but I know it's the one that came with a 6 cyl. motor, with dual weber carbs. The thing belongs to a friend of mine; it sits in his shop and he needs the space. I was impressed with the way it's built. We daydreamed about cutting a section out of the roof and moving it forward to make a "cab", and turn the thing into a custom pickup. Funny how people spend hours leaning on fenders dreaming. I think it's downright good therapy...
