Timing is everything (give or take 25 years)! I know unfulfilled dreams are nothing, but I spent the summer of 1954 fantasizing about a Model-A coupe with a Red Ram V8. I even bought a Model-A coupe for $50 and had some funds to swap the coupe body onto my "31 A Fordor chassis and the Dodge engine looked like the poor man's Ardun to me. Alas my Dad (who had owned three Model-As) judged the body swap too difficult (he who overhauled engines in the driveway over weekends!). Anyway I respected my old man tremendoulsly so I abandoned the A-project and bought a '47 Ford convert, but I still can see the plan of a metallic green (why green??) Coupe with a Dodge V8 and for contrast a gold Cadillac "V" on the trunk. Obviously just a kid's dream, but now you tell me there are still Red Ram V8s out there! Too Late! I just hope I get this SBC-roadster running while I still have health to enjoy it. Two years ago I would have paid a lot for a Red Ram V8, up to $1000 for a rebuildable block with heads, but now I am a SBC guy.
