Question paint ? bout house of kolor

Was in the paint store yesterday and they were telling me that I should sand the primer with 800 grit before putting the color down....... now granted I haven't paint for years but 800 seems way to fine to me...... I was thinking more like 400..... can someone let me know if they are right
    I'm using House of Kolor bc26 sg112 and sg114 with a uc35 top coat

    Thanks

The reason for 800 is to keep sand scratches down so your Kandy will look good , but it doesnt have the bite ( in my oppinion) for it to last. I would go with 500/600 grit wet,and then spray a sealer before top coating.
I feel this is about as fine as i want to go for good adhesion .

They always tell me to use a 800 grit as well. I think Colorex (Auto Air) told me the same before I lay the base coat. Not sure on that though, I thought the same thing.
