Yeah most primer is not a sealer. While DP-90 is a primer/sealer. That means its more like a true paint, just softer and easier to sand.

On the other hand if you just want the flat black look, go for some semi-gloss black 2 part epoxy and add a liberal dose of flattener. Just ask the paint guy, hell know what you need.
