Powder coating 392 Hemi Valve Covers...

Hi Everyone! Haven't been around in awhile, I hope everyone is
ok! I want to have the '58 Chrysler Hemi Valve Covers powder
coated on my '32. I want the covers done in black with the 'Chrysler Fire Power' done in red. I went to a local guy who was recommended & he said he could do the covers black but I'd have to have the lettering painted on. Isn't there a way to powder coat the letters? He said if the letters were indented rather than sticking up he could do it. Or is having them painted good? Thanks! Bill
ps, currently I'm in the Ventura County area of California...

Bill..............I have a good buddy who has his own powdercoating shop. Have helped him now and then over the years.
What you want done can be done but it would be expensive because of the time involved taping off the other ares to put the red on. The shop you talked to was right........get them done in black and then do the red in paint. If the raised lettering is coated with powder, just sand them to scuff the area for the paint to better adhere.

Sunset's right, there was a powdercoater down here that did a pair of early Hemi VCs for display and while they came out great, he told me he shouldhave just painted the lettering.
I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....
