Oh boy do I hear your plight. I recently re-did the roof on a 66 Corvair Limo that had a vinyl roof.

I ended up purchasing a huge pile of patch panels cut from a donor car as well as fabbing a new 3 foot center section rolled out of 18 gauge. lots of work, but well worth the effort and the only way to do it right. someone out there is sure to have a donor car for you as well.
