    jet hot coatings good/bad?

Does anyone have any negative experiences with using "jet hot" coatings on exhaust? They are running a special price on this at the NSRA OKC show and I was thinking of using on my exhaust system. Any comments much appreciated! Thanks

My Sanderson headers on the 27 were JetHot coated 20 years ago because at that time Sanderson wasn't coating their own, but sending them to JH for this process. It held up great. In fact, I actually could have reused them on the rebuild I am doing on the car, but they had a few dull spots (mostly from sitting in the rain many days while I was at work, and me putting a plastic tarp on the engine before the headers had cooled, melting the plastic to the headers. So I just had Sanderson recoat them.

Based on that one experience I would have to give them a thumbs up. I do not treat my stuff particularly gingerly, and if they held up to that kind of use I think it is a good product.

Yep, that is what they told me to do when I asked how to properly care for them. He said "just use any good metal polish." I have done that for years and they come out great.

I've used Jet Hot for everything with never a problem. I won an HPC coating job at an NSRA meet and had an intake and a water outlet done. That coating was dull and they trashed the outlet. Jet Hot did the intake over plus my new outlet and did it right.

Jet Hot headers and intake on a different engine then above:

but not the bill...LOL! I do all my Vega headers with the stuff because the tubes are so expensive and are being discontinued all the time. I want to give the J.H. out in Tempe, AZ. some good karma. The customer service is as friendly and professional as it gets. I wish I could remember the woman's name who works the front desk...she is awesome.
