Just don't expect Iwata or even DeVilbiss results with an Astro gun....Which is the main issue for you, the initial cost or the final result???? A paint gun is another tool and tools are an investment, not an expense.....JMO I guess.....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I am looking for final results. there is nothing worse then having to do something twice, especially when paint is not cheap.

I do still have a binks 2001 siphon feed that is like new, but I think I would have to buy a better compressor.

Don't hesitate on the Iwata LPH 400. I made the painful steps up to that gun and though it cost me a lot more then I wanted to pay, it sure is a lot better then anything else I have ever used. It sprays at 16 psig rather then the 23 - 25 everthing else uses, has a very low air volume usage at 9.5, so even a fairly small air compressor will work. I do use a Devillbiss Finishline 3 or Sharpe 400 for primers rather then the Iwata (I just can't bring myself to "abusing" a $500 gun with heavy stuff
