painting brake drums?
I have to get new frt brake drums for my '65 Rambler.. pulled the RF drum just to check them to make sure they would pass inspection.. the shoes are fine. less than 1/4 wore but the drum is split, right in the center of the contact surface in like an 8" line
.. never seen that b4 but Rockauto lists the drums for $51 each, so I might as well get both... heres my question, I hate rusty parts and I know fresh steel will rust up real quick.. can I spray the new drums with a high temp paint? like Dupli color 1,200* paint? I'v got a few cans of the silver laying around.

Thanks... I'll have to get a picture of the old drum.. it's pretty interesting to look at.
new drums are Raybestos brand, so pretty good I think.You don't know what you've got til it's gone

I bought a brake paint kit from Pep Boys Its looks good after about 1 year. If I remember correctly it was under 20 bucks . The high temp paint should work just as good.Friends dont let friends drive fords!

yea I know.. they use oil to keep them from rusting.. I have a can of the high temp primer here somewhere.. it says you don't need it, but I prime everything
