enamel over laquer can be done but in time the laquer base will crack. you can put laquer over enamel but it must have hardener add to the enamel and use a non penetrating laquer thinner if you still can get it ? BUT enamel with hardener you may not put over spray can enamel this has alot to do with the thinners and the make up of the paint base out of the spray can. enamel with hardener. you can thin out with just about any hotter thinner if it will not eat in your base primmer if you use acrylic laquer primmer you could thin out and spray out your enamel with hardener with .acrylic laquer .acrylic urthane .acrylic enamel . but like i said any spray can paint less made by ppg sem or any auto paint made to top coat with a hi quality two part paint will pull and lift the paint the only thing you could top coat cheap can primmer with would be the old alkalies enamel has a weak thinner that may not lift your base and can use hardner with them. but dry slow and can be trickly to use and the sun will burn the shine off it.
