What the heck. I'll take the responsibility for hijacking this thread.
I've also painted a lot of things other than cars and bikes:
Refrigerators, gas pumps, boats, a garden tractor, peddle cars, ice chests, radio control boats and planes, mail boxes, helmets, tool boxes, trailers, I put the 'glass fuselage together for a kit plane, but it never got back here for paint before it was sold..........and I did paint a Holiday Inn last night. LOL!
One of the jobs I turned down was body painting for a nudist colony. Have you seen the age group that goes to them? "MY" age group!.......besides, a guy could catch something!

I was 13 when i cut school and went to brother in laws body shop . Wet sanding seemed endless then and enamal was the big paint 10 coats then sand and buff . Now with the clears the prep is even more criticle and coats are a lot less . I remember the lace and spider webbing now like HRP does the art is so much more beautifull. But we all can lay down some color and clear but be ready to sand some more . It's all just a hobby for me no doing it for a living customer's S**k some times LOL .Last edited by bluestang67; 05-23-2007 at 08:54 PM.
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
