3M has a "General Adhesive Remover" that works real well. I use this stuff on Leather seats that have been duct taped together all the time. It was shown to me by one of the car detail people in a major GM dealership here and they use it on and next to paint all the time. It should be available in spray cans or by the quart at your local parts store.
