    Shades of red oxide

It might seem like a strange request, but i need a number and make of the red oxide primer shown on these rods. I'm after the dark brown 'vintage' look.
Believe it or not this shade of red oxide isn't available here in the UK, it's kinda pink or orange (i have tried several makes).
I know it's not a high quality paint and it doesn't protect against moisture, it's a look i want before the shiny paint gets done later on in a few years.
Anyone old enough to remember the Eastwood/Baraket 32 sedan will know what i mean.

Primer will fade very quickly, even if it's catalyzed. It is not meant to be exposed to light, or hold it's color well. Even using a catalyzed pimer, they are totally faded in 3-5 years.

I would buy a regular color of your choice, then add flattener to the catalyzed paint, or to the catalyzed clearcoat.

I've done it a few times with great long-lasting results.

I think the "Rolling Bones" mixed redish primer with charcoal to get their brown primer.
On a quiet night, you can hear a Ford rust.
