Thanks Shine & Dave for your input on my question and the SPI products...it is good food for thought. I have revised the "filler and putty" section to Evercoat....now just to choose the correct two for the job.

PS: I emailed PPG today (03/06/07) and it will be interesting to see how their recommendation stacks up to those of you that have actually used the product! I will post thier reply when I receive it.

Good Afternoon,
My son and I have a "Father/Son" project to paint his car from bare metal. The body is now ready for prep and paint. We have decided to use DPLF Epoxy Primer and Global DG top coat ( paint code color 6405; 111 Champagne Yellow)
My question is what is the VERY BEST Primer/Surfacer to use? I have read about your K36/38 and MX245 Polyester Filler. I plan to use Evercoat (polyester base) for the regular fillers and putties over the epoxy bare metal primer. Please include your phone number with your reply.
I thank you in advance and look forward to your reply.
Best regards,
