Need Help With Paint System.....
Hi Everyone,
Great Site By The Way!!
New member with old question...
My son and I have a "Father/Son Project" that feels more like the blind leading the blind  and I need your help! I am trying to put together a material list/paint/coating system so we can paint his car from the bare metal up. We intend on using PPG products. From what I have read the DPLF Epoxy Primer will go on first and Global DG Single Stage will go on last. What I am having my struggle with is what goes on in the middle.
I have read about PPG K36 & K38 (Acrylic Urethane) and also MX 245 (Polyester Primer). So my question is what is best the "Acrylic" or the "Polyester" primers? Also what is the best "Evercoat" fillers/putties to use over the Epoxy and before the primer?? And any other helpful recommendations you may have.
So far this is the process/PPG products I think we will be going with:
DX 330 Acryli-Clean De-wax/Grease
DX 579 Metal Cleaner
DX 520 Metal Conditioner
DPLF 90 Epoxy Primer; (alternate: SPI Epoxy)
Body Filler: F/E Evercoat "Xtreme and or Gold"
Putties & Finishing Glazes: F/E Evercoat "Polyester Glazing Putty and or Euro-Soft"
Primer PPG K36 or K38
DPLF 90 Epoxy for Sealer
Global DG top coat
I thank you in advance with any help you guys could lend,
Glenn
