Painting the inside of the shop

I have some questions about painting a shop. I have a 40' x 60' shop and I am going to paint the legs. THe legs stick through where the tin is. It is also a metal frame building. I was told to use dplf epoxy primer to seal the legs. Right know i am soda blasting the legs and getting ready to paint. I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas on what to lay on for a primer and which line of paint. I am thinking of a single stage over the primer. I want some opinions because I am new to painting and i am just going by what a body shop man told me.

If the support posts are blasted clean and free of rust, use red oxide primmer or Shermin William Direct to Metal paint. It is water base and adheres to just about any surface that is clean. Rental airless spray units are available in most areas. We painted our 180,000 sqft shop 6years ago and it still looks good. We power wash every year to keep the dust down.

I have to tell you, there are a ton of epoxy primers out there that are way cheaper than the DP and some are better. Check with PPG and the OMNI line, Dupont for NASON, Sherwin Williams for Dimension, your NAPA store for Martin Senour Cross/FIRE, 5Star, there are tons of choices for saving a BUNCH of money.

That goes for the SS urethane top coat, most all these companies have an inexpensive SS urethane that is perfect for your shop.

And of course as M said in the last post. Sherwin Williams industrial division has a ton of product designed just for what you are doing.
