The fittings referred to just have a larger inside diameter in order to carry a higher volume of air....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I have used both style fittings and have never seen any difference myself , I Quit using them as when I have to go edge stuff on the frame machine for the body men I always have to change fittings so I got tired of switching all the time .
And FYI , condensation starts forming in a hose after 25 feet so if you have 30+ feet of air hose and getting water you might try shortening your hose or getting a water filter trap at the tool .
As it may not be your compressor or Wall regulator letting water pass through
