Car looks good, gonna get us a pic when it is all finished?

I got a quick question whail I'm thinking about it.

I wan't to make my '51 look '50's period correct, and I want a medium dark purple, I found a single stage acrylic enamel, would the single stage or a BC/CC work better for the '50's look, I'm not going to color sand or anything to it.You don't know what you've got til it's gone

 Matt ,
To try and make it look period correct with todays paints may be stretch , as they were painted with Nitrocellulose Lacquer and hand rubbed via an oil rag from the factory ( my grandfather did this as his job at mercury )

I do know you can spray lacquer clear over PPG's DBU base after letting dry 1 hour , as thats how PPG recommended doing it when it was first introduced , or spraying their Deltron DAU 82 uerathane clear over it which is not made anymore .
Using a single stage may work but may have to much peal for a factory look unrubbed .

Maybe if you used the lacquer clear over the DBU , and gave it a hand rubbing instead of machine buff , may give it a correct look .

This is his other toy , the boat closest to the camera is his .
He got beat in this run ( this year 4th of July in OKC ) with a 9.01 on a 9.00 index.
 1200+ HP , jet drive 8lbs boost .
When he gets tired of playing in the water this motor will go into his 65 Chevelle , the spare Blown boat motor is going in it for now .
