im looking at buying an airbrush in the near future. All my guns now are sata, but i really like the iawata air brushes. Are the satas supposed to be just as good as iawata, or is it more of a preference thing? the sata is the SataGraph 3. Thanks!

iwata is the best i've ever owned. i recently replaced all my guns with iwatas . the air brush is top shelf.

I've used airbrushes from hardware store cheapies to top-dollar "all the bells and whistles" ones. The main thing is learning the ins and outs of each one. I noticed the cheaper they are, the more sensitive they are to air pressure fluctuations. The first, cheapest one I had is still the best for really fine lines, go figure.

Hey all you guys with the Iwata guns, which one are you using for clear????

Hey Dave... If you are going to use an airbrush for clear you will want to use one that can handle some paint volume... If i shoot clear through an airbrush I usually use my Pasche H... It is a single action, siphon feed and I can attach a larger bottle so I can keep spraying without having to re-laod the brush...

As to the earlier comments on this thread... IMHO an airbrush is simply a tool, use whichever brand you like, but use the right tool for the right job... Spraying graphics with only one brush is about like working on your car with one adjustable wrench!.. Sure you could do it, but the job is so much easier when you use the right tool with the right job...

Actually I didn't phrease that very clearly, I meant which Iwata are you guys using for clear on doing the entire car??? I've almost got myself convinced that I want a new gun just for doing clear.

dave, go to asetusa.com. theres a lot of good imfo there and hub can answer all your questions on the iwatas. i bought the lph100 with the sidemount cup and the lph400 for shooting clear. they are saving me a lot of time and headaches.

I love my LPH-400 with the 1.3 set up low volume Low pressure Iwata Dave .

I am going to buy their new base gun , LPH-400-LVB with the 1.3 set up

spraytech, you going to buy another gun or just the cap ? the lvb cap runs about 95$ . i dont do production so i just have the cap. i use the lph100 for base. great little gun for getting to hard to reach places. i also bought a cap guage to make double sure on pressure. found out most of my guages lie good luck dave.

I am going to purchase a whole new gun , as I use my LPH-400 I have now for clear only.

I use an Accuspray for base right now , and is about 14 years old , and I just want a new gun , there is nothing wrong with it , but after holding it for 14 years I want something new . :-)
My helper sure like spraying with the Accuspray , and I may just give it to him when I get the new Iwata .

after 35 years of binks and jga's i almost droped the 400. so light i forgot i was holding it the 8-10 lb pressure was tuff to get use to . at 8 lbs you can really slow down and concentrate on your pattern. i love mine.

Man I haven't used my JGA or the 2 JGV guns I have for almost 20 years ( still have a bink's 62 ) , I wanted to get on the bandwagon of HVLP's when it was mentioned that the old guns were going to be outlawed , at least that was the word from OSHA 20 years ago .

I just came across this gun out on the market , I do not know anything about it , but am going to see if my Jobber can get one for a demo , they have the same concept as the Mattson top loader guns .

The only thing I see I dont like is the thickness of the trigger .
