    paint color for my car

    Hey everyone,
I have a 1991 Camaro RS with a 350 v8. It has overhauled cams (sorry if thats not the correct terms) but from what I have been told that doesn't help me much until I add more stuff to it, which isn't going to happen until this summer. It also has flowmaster exhaust, which I love-- it just makes the car "rumble"

Someone just vandalized my car with ketchup and I didn't drive the car for about a week, so after sitting in the hot South Carolina sun for that long it wasn't too good for the car, to put it lightly. It ate through the gloss on the hatch and also a few spots on the hood. I've been told my insurance company will pay for it to be repainted. It already could have used a new paint job, so we are going all the way down to the metal and doing the job right.
My question is what color should I repaint it. (It is a metallic blue right now, which I really like but I just want to check my options). I want it to look fast and intimidating. Also, what could I do extra to the paint to make it look even more awesome.

    A few questions:

What color is the interior? Will the insurance pay to repaint the jams too? (A color change always costs more.) Would you be willing to pay the extra (about $400) for a color change?

The interior is gray. I am assuming they will pay to repaint the jams, the company is really good to my parents. If not, I would pay to repaint it...if I am going to spend the money then I want it done right.

Bright red solid, or a dark red metallic.

Those would look nice, but my 85 camaro I used to have was a dark metallic red and I would like to get something differant.

I'm thinking of something really cool, but I don't know how to explain it or if its even possible to get. Its like a black w/ some silver mixed in....I dont know how to explain it, I just have it pictured.

Unless you are willing to pull the engine, I would have it repainted the same color. When you lift the hood and see the old color on the fire wall it will be an obvious repaint. It's not just the door jambs that need to be painted, it's the engine bay and the interior of the trunk as well. You could always add a second color misted in to the hood, add a side decal or even add a flame decal from a PT Cruiser accessory over the top of the original color.

Another thing to keep in mind. I guarantee that the insurance company will not pay to paint the jambs or anything else to needed to change the color. They will only pay for the actual damage.

If the only panels that actually require paint are the hood and hatch panels, that's all they will paint. If the ketchup didn't do serious damage on the sides, they might be wet sanded. Don't count your repaint before it's OK'd. I'll guess it'll be wet sanded and two panels painted. Another thing to keep in mind is that many 3rd Generation Camaros suffer from rust, even if minor surface rust. If any panels requiring paint have rust issues, you'll have to pay for those repairs as well.

Stay in the blue family, but go a shade darker.
The darker shade will stand out better when polished.

Or keep it the same color and
add white SS stripes or a mild flame job in front to make the color pop.
    Don't use decals.

I'm gonna try to borrow my roommates camera so I can post a picture of my car. The SS stripes would definatly look nice so thats a good suggestion.

Do a Forest Green with Racing stripes. Just an Idea. Also a Anti-Freeze green is what my Car is and I get compliments out the ass. Our cars look about the same. Just hard to find someone who will do Anti-Freeze green.
    I'm 16 give me a Break.

Bringin shame to all the little Ricers.
