    Paint my 87 PU

Guys, i got a 1987 chevrolet truck that has its factory two tone on it and I don't like blue on white.

Any one have any suggestions on "out-of-nowhere" colors that i could use? I want a very unique color but i dont want it to be like hot pink or neon green. lol.

I like contrasting colors, (extremely dark + extremely light) for example, flat black + bright yellow.

Any good ideas? I need to get this truck to paint ASAP and I have NO idea what i want to do with the paint on it.

Also could i get an estimate on how much paint ill need for the idea and how much the paint costs?

    Lemme know...

    Thanks!

I like dark metallics or pearl on top with a light solid on the bottom. If you want that paint job to last 10 years or more, plan on $1,000-$1,200 for materials. If you use a flat, and want it to last, use a catalyzed urethane with a flatterner added. Here is one of my favorite jobs, though I didn't do it. :-(

YEA!! thats the ticket! i like that paint job, im actually really curious to see what a paint job such as that would look like on my truck.

Im curious about the design more than the colors. I think maybe like a green and orange or black and yellow or purple and black

    what do you think?

You could always go with the new Nissan orange and black. Real nice color.

This is the orange from the new Nissan 350Z. Really popular with imports, not so much with domestic trucks, but looks really good. I'm actually surprised not too many people get it. But, in my opinion, would look really good with a nice glossy black keeping it company.

House of Kolor has a pearl that would be similar to the Nissan color, also.

Im thinking of going with that same design that is on the car pictured above, but with using the nissan orange and a real glossy black or

another nice option i think would look real good is that nissan orange with a real bright yellow? What you think?

I think I do too, I think it would look really clean and nice with a billet grill, some cragar series wheels, blacked out windows, a roll pan, lower it down just a little bit, dump the exhaust under the bed about 8 inches before the rear axle, replace my engine with more power, AND rebuild my transmission one more time to hold the more power and get a little more performance out of my engine by adjusting my shiftpoints ect.

    What do you guys think?

sweet. my girlfriend's father knows this kid that loves to paint. The people around town say that he is a natural. The reason that we use him is because he is very talented and he doesn't paint for the money because he's only 15, he doesnt need the money. He paints for the experience. All i have to do is find a booth, the materials, and a good timefor him to spray it and we should be ok.

The paint is going to be one of the last things i do though because i need my truck to run good first because i need it for my daily driver.

when i paint to colors that are dark and light i like to give the lighter color a touch of the dark one. what i mean is if you go with an emerald green and use a white for your 2-tone go over the white with a green pearl . I feel it would give you a original look but wouldreally turn some heads when the light hits it. then seperate the colors with a lighter pin stripe . good look on your color search.
