Re: Clearcoating after 24hrs
It needs to be scuffed and recoated with a couple of coats of the DBC base, there is a possiable chance of no adhesion of the clear to base , and clear may peal off . But you might have alright luck just clearing it , as the suns UV rays wont be attacking it like an outside panel.Originally posted by Lsturbo91
I've heard mixed opinions on whether it would be ok to clearcoat after 24hrs? I need to clearcoat the engine bay/trunk area. It has been past the 24hrs marker (long story). The paint I'm using is PPG DBC orient blue metallic. Would it be ok to clear after 3-4days, or is it really necessary to wetsand/reapply base and then clear it?
Thanks!
But if it was me I would scuff and spray 2 coats of base , then let flash and shoot your clear !
