    Hello

Hello to everyone. I live in South Carolina and am currently working on a 1960 Chevy Shortbed Stepside P/U and I currently drive a 1965 Chevy Impala. I am looking for some help on locating motor mounts for the Chevy Pickup. We have rebuilt a 1975 Chevy 350 and the motor mounts won't match up.

Was the original motor from the '60 a 6cyl? If so, that's why and you can get mounts from any junk Chevy car or truck with a small block chevy in it.

    1960 motor mounts

Thanks to all. The 1960 P/U did originally come with a 6 cyl., but supposedly had been converted to a V-8 at one time. When I bought it, it was empty, so I don't know for sure.
Most of the motor mounts that I have seen will not work. I need the part that mounts on the supports in the engine bay.

They do mount a little diffrent, unless you have a BB V6 engine Ex: 305E, then the originals would work but I doubt the BB V6 was an option in 1960, I belive it came out around '65 or so.

Oh yes, now that I look at the pic, it indeed did have a V8 in it, the dual exzaust pipes are still hanging ( unless you put those there ), a 6cyl even with headders would have both pipes coming off 1 side. I do belive Mildon makes the mounts for SBC, other company's too but I remember seeing mildon SBC engine mounts.

A BBV6 is a 305 V6. It was designed in the 60s as a truck only motor. Not a very common motor, is it sought after by collectors.

There were other sizes for the BB V6, I'm not shure of them but I do remember seeing somthing on a 350 BB V6. My grandfathers '67 GMC 3/4 ton 4X4 had a 305E V6 but it blew up in 1982 and a 350 was fit in but never finished really ( was drivin little in a feild but needed new bellhousing because of the size diffrence between motors ), the bellhousing was gotten but never installed, truck hasn't been run since 1983. I'd like to restore it someday.

From looking at the picture it is apparent the mounting set up used the old style with mounts on the bellhousing. I would try to find another similar truck, or visit the library to see if an old Chilton's or Motor manual might have illustrations. Those front mounts are certanly different than the usual U shaped mounts that small block Chevies use. It makes me wonder if there was a V-6 in there.

Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!
