Cool old hot rodder signning in

    Hi!!
I have just found this site and I am happy with what I see.
I have been involved in this hot rod hobby since 1965 and I have built a few cars over the years.
My latest project is a 1947 Ford 5-passenger Coupe with a small block Ford 302 cid V-8, C4 auto trans., 9" rear end. It has power steering and power brakes. It has a 60/40 front power seat from a 1980 Pontiac Grand Prix, also, used the back seat from the GP.
It is painted hot rod black primer w/ red vinyl flame decals. This has been a 15 year project that is alot of fun. I keep the car together for th esummer cruising months and make my modifications during the winter months. When it is finished it willbe repainted in two tone dk brown(body) w/ orange-gold(fenders) combination that my daughter dubbed the A&W COUPE
    when I first got it.
I will keep you all updated on the progress.
    till later,
    Lon

Thanks for the come back. Do you ever go to the Spencer,IA car show? I know that some of the Sioux Falls gang make it there.

If you are ever in North Iowa, I work for O'reilly Auto Parts.

Welcome 47coupelg, from this boards resident rat rodder. BTW a big congrats on actually putting a FORD engine into a ford. Not to mention the timeless choice of paint, black primer.

Wow...... It's a small world after all. Back in the early 70's I bought my 40 Chevy panel truck from a guy in Spencer IA. The guy owned an auto parts store on the west side of the main drag. Can't remember the guys name or the name of the auto parts store??? That was a long time ago, and I'm gettin' on in years ya' know. I think it was an independant store.

Also, I met my wife in Spencer. I was workin' on my bike and a buddy of mine stopped by and said, hey lets run to spencer, I know some girls at the business collage there. We went, raided the dorm, met a couple girls. Ended up makin' a few trips to Spencer after that til' she got out of school. The rest is history. I lived in a town about an hour and a half from Spencer (Titonka) and my wife was from (Britt) not far from Titonka.

BTW: I see you're from Mason City. We go through there a few times a year going back to see family. Well, since they opened the 4 lane hwy. "Avenue of the Saints", we go by it. I have a high school buddy that lives in Clear Lake. We stop to see him just about every time we go out. Got another H.S. bud that works at the Mason City Hospital.
