Sadly we lost one of our own a week ago, my cousin lost his battle with ALS, he was only 44. I posted earlier in the thread about his 49 chevy 5 window truck, a whole lot of family and friends came together and got that thing driving while he was still able to and he enjoyed every minute of it.
He was laid to rest Saturday and had asked my brother earlier in the year if he would drive his truck with the casket in the back, my brother accepted and with one of my cousins sons in the passenger seat. Electronic cutouts open.
RIP Scott

FordyG,
It's sad for him to be gone at such an early age, but it's also uplifting that his shell rode to the grave in the awesome truck that you and your family finished for him. Prayers for you and your family, that your memories become treasures.
I'm sorry to hear that, I am 45, a person never knows how much time he's given on this planet. My dad-in-law was a big army guy, we did the same thing for him, only it was in the back of a 1940s army pickup that he gifted to my nephew several years before he died.
Sorry to learn of your loss FordyG..
Pretty cool to use the truck like that I think.
I’m sorry for your loss Fordy. I’ve never heard of a funeral procession like that. That part is pretty neat.
Sorry for your loss, a very cool way to send him off.
Thoughts and prayers your way my friend..
Very sorry for your loss, but what a send off for one last drive. RIP
Thanks for the kind words guys, All is well here and my project must continue. I had hoped to at least fire up the engine before he went but that didn't happen, I am still going to try and do that soon at the least cause I know there is gonna be a whole lot of body work, paint, interior, wiring etc that still needs to be done.
On a lighter note, started getting some cab corner work done on my pickup and collected some more parts for future work... Also since you guys apparently like pictures, I helped set up a little photo shoot yesterday using my cousins Hemi 40 Ford coupe deluxe and some models. Here is a couple of the many pictures I snapped myself, although there was actual photographers shooting, I was trying stay out of their way.

The new panels aren't lining up flush, pretty sure the cab has some previous passenger side damage which isn't helping. We'll get it, plan on working on some of that tomorrow.

I'd say you're smart to stay away from the big show, all considered. The truck's looking great!
I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. Man, that just goes to show life can be all too short. That is an awesome way to haul him to his resting place. Very cool that was able to happen. Nice work on your cab repairs. Now, on the 40 Coupe, can we get some under hood pics? I went to Goodguys Des Moines and Goodguys has went above and beyond to keep things sanitary, spaced out, and provided plenty of sanitizer etc. They had 3800 cars and trucks and I haven't heard of anyone getting sick from being there. Even the dipstick protesters stayed away so that was a huge plus.
