Hello from Plain City Ohio!
Originally joined the forum after finding some info I was searching for on here through a Google search. Having stalked around a bit and found some excellent knowledge it's time to come out of the darkness and say hello!
Current project is a 1971 LeMans Sport, 350 2 barrel auto/ac/power steering car. Picked it up years ago and slowly brought it back to life then had it repainted in the fall of 2009. Interior is either original or NOS, she's not been the fastest ride but she turns heads and sounds good. She's a cruiser not a bruiser.
After blowing out an exhaust manifold gasket and developing a little bit of a valve tick at 68,000 miles the motor has come out for rebuilding. She'll go back together with a little bit more go and a bit more show.

Nice car!
After nearly twelve months of lurking 'in the dark' (as you say,) it's good to see you come out and introduce yourself.
There are a lot of genuinely nice people on here who will no doubt enjoy your input, so welcome to the mad house!
Keep posting, have fun, and meet them all.johnboy

Not sure that "Welcome" is the right message after a year of lurking, but be that as it may it's good to have you here and posting. Nice LeMan's, and looking forward to hearing more from you as time goes by. Join in, have fun, and don't let any naysayer's get you down.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Welcome and nice ride! You don't see many of them anymore. It seems like everyone wants to turn them into GTO's.Ryan

Welcome. Don't feel bad about the lurking thing. I did the same thing for a few months before I made the big introduction. So far I have found lots of friendly people around here with way more knowledge and experience than me, who are willing to help and share. I have no doubt that there is lots for me to be learned around here, hopefully making my build a better one.
PS: Nice looking Pontiac. I also noticed you are from OHIO . and I'm from Michigan so..... I was thinking the only thing that might make that Pontiac look better would be a little Maize and Blue paint. GO BLUE !!
Sorry I just couldn't resist. It is easy to make a small fortune in Hot Rods. Just start with a large one.......

Thanks for the welcoming comments, definitely always nice to find another forum with friendly people. As you've noticed, it's been a year of lurking and hunting for useful information. So now I'm here to give a little back and hopefully share some of the cool stuff I'm involved in.
As for the LeMans, the compliments are much appreciated! She's just recently getting her first engine rebuild so there will definitely be more photos to come. As for the GTO comment... odd isn't it how many GTOs are out there? Hey doesn't bother ME any the more "GTO" on the road the less LeMans Sports Just increases my value!

A little late welcome, but better late than never. I had to google Plain City as I was unaware of it's location in Ohio and I'm native born. The name suggests to me of having Quaker or Mennonite roots. My paternal grandmother had direct Mennonite roots though my paternal grandparents were from around the Lebanon area and I was born in Dayton and techinspector1 and I graduated from high school in Dayton.
Glad to see you on the forum and that is a sweet LeMans.Ken Thomas

It's historically been a majority farming community however over the last decades of urban sprawl around here it's become essentially a suburb of Columbus/Dublin. Also becoming quite the location for shops, within 5 miles of where I sit now there are numerous race teams/engine builders/machine shops/repair shops.
Nice part about an area built up as country, nice flat straight country roads!
Could it be a 10114182? If so, it is a Gen V 454, 4 bolt 1991 (or later). Hope that helps..
