1933 3w Ford build- New member First big build
I have a 1933 that will have a chevy 350 small block.
I could use some help on transmission type.
Use a TH350 or 700R4, I have not installed any rear mounts yet.
Question on inside room could come up.
Is the overdrive on 700 worth installing.

Welcome to the club. Nice to see you here too.
I guess we should start with what do you want the car to do.. Cruising, long distance runner, drag racing? The OD tranny is nice to help gain fuel mileage, If you're sticking close to home and just banging gears on a weekend for the thrill.. then maybe the non OD tranny would fit and work best..
With the OD trans, you can get away with a higher numerically gear ratio to give you better acceleration off the line yet still get decent mpg...
So you have some of your first decisions to make. While you're at it, make some notes and decide now what the plan/goal will be, a 33 is a sweet ride so that's a given. But do you want fuel injection or carb(s), HEI ignition? what tires / wheels? Brakes? What suspension?
All these basic questions need to be answered as early as possible so you can work towards that goal.. And don't forget we LOVE build pictures! LOL
Okay, we love all pictures!

well if you were goin to build a stick shift you'd do a 4 speed, so do a 4 speed with the slush box and use the 700r4--------
