you'll need wheelie bars on the front bumper for stopping!!!!!!!!!!
I spent the day puttering with my '53 'Binder repairing the back of the cab where I had to cut out for the new frame. So now I am onto designing the firewall and figuring out how to mount the clutch and brake master cylinders... Please don't even mention using a high mounted master, I think they look out of place on a smoothed firewall.
I recently let the little Morris go (the one without doors). A guy spotted it on my FB page and made me an offer I just couldn't pass up. I also just got hired on as a lead technician in a town about an hour's drive from where I live. It's been a bit on the warm side here so I really haven't done much, I also had a bad propane leak from a wreck here so I was unable to use any kind of welding, cutting or grinding equipment until it abated. Maybe next weekend I'll get back to work in my garage. I really need to get things moving in there!!!
The job is really eating away at my time with the toys, but I do have the weekends to work on them. Last weekend I was concentrating on the Falcon rear frame rails and am all but done the passenger side. Another patch to the floor and rear quarter panel and that side is complete, then on to the driver side. Get it back together and out of my hair before the Labour day weekend I hope. Next on my list is the '53 International which I am plugging away at slowly (I've been working on it for 2 years) and hope to have it roadworthy by spring. My '77 Ford has gone to the scrap pile after blowing the engine along the highway on my way home from work one day so in its place I picked up a crappy 1998 Chev 1500 4X4 for $300 that I'll run until I finish my 'Binder then it goes to the bone yard for all I care. I have such low interest in any GM product that I won't even bother taking a pic of it.
GM products and I do NOT go together at all! Driving home the other day I heard the tell-tale rattle and the '98 decided to become part of the scenery along side of the road. It is sitting along my back shed waiting for me to make up my mind as to what to do with it... To crush or part out? That is the question... Decisions, decisions, Maybe I should put a Ford drive train into it and improve the resale value of the truck ;)
The Chev has been put out of my misery, the Austins have been re-homed to southern Alberta and I just scored a 1958 Edsel :whacked: Yeah I know, I'm a guy that is REALLY into oddball things. This is number 1033 from the Oakville Ontario plant, the guy that owned it also has pre-production number 16 so he's got a stash of spare parts that I am allowed to rummage through to finish the trim off as well as other possible parts as required
An Edsel huh... you sure do like'em to be different! As always thanks for the update and the pictures..
And with just a bit of spit 'n polish.......

Yeah, this one's a 2dr, but the idea's there! Note the "Sledsle" and the looooooow ride.
I will be running this oldie as a survivor, only repairing what is needed, like the driver front fender and straightening up the rear quarter panels. The reasoning is what I found out about it ... There is no other Canadian model known to exist with the list of options this one has, also there were only 195 4 door Pacers built in Canada in 1958, of which only 6 remain accounted for:eek::3dSMILE::3dSMILE::3dSMILE::eek I own one and a friend in BC owns another, his however is far worse of than mine presently.
This weekend I hope to have my furnace hooked up in the garage so I'll be able to work comfortably on the old 'Binder. Kinda getting tired of seeing it hold down the floor.
Since I've been on here last I picked up a 1963 Galaxie 4 door sedan, which will be rodded Got it for $400 including a set of headers and dual exhaust fit for it from a guy that owns a muffler shop. He claims he doesn't have time to work on it so he'd rather see it go to someone that loves cars instead of some scrap yard.
