As standard the V8 put out 165 bhp, it weighs 2804lb, but the bonnet and boot lid (plus the engine) are made out of aluminium, and i have fitted fibreglass wings so it has had a bit of a diet haha! The beauty of the P6 is that all the body panels, including the roof simply un-bolt. It has twin su carbs which I will probably replace with an edelbrock 390 cfm Four barrel. I am currently fitting a stainless steel exhaust and will look for a custom fabricator for some headers. I learned most of my mechanical skills from my late grandfather, who served in the REME (Royal Mechanical and Mechanical Engineers) attached to the 79th Armoured Division in Europe, in 44-45. ( He used to assemble, and repair Churchill Crocodile flamethrower Tanks).
I am also working on a number of my friends vehicles as well. These include a 1944 jeep, a 1944 Daimler Dingo scout car Daimler Dingo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. A 1944 Morris C8 GS truck, and a 1945 Humber heavy utility staff car. Oh, and I sometimes drive this as well....
It's a 1943 Daimler Heavy.
I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
