Hello from Central Oklahoma
I have been lurking here for a little while. I am getting ready to get a 48 Chevy Coupe in January so I will be doing a lot of reading here and to see what I can fall into for ideas for it. I have to say the car is rough and a basket case but body is solid and all there.

Seriously, the car appears to be the perfect candidate for a rat rod. A front and rear clip from a G body would work well and would give you motor mounts for a SBC. The front and rear track of the G body cars will be very close to the front and rear track of your project car. Track is the measurement of the width between the tires as measured from the center of one tire to the center of the other tire on the same axle. The G body track varies a little from one car to the other, but generally speaking is about 59 inches front and rear.

Buy a whole car that is running, cut it up and use everything you can. What you can't use (glass, body parts, etc.) you can sell off to reduce the cost of the donor. This is amateur hot rodding at it's best.
Here's an example from craigslist....$1000 and you have everything to get the little coupe on the road.....plus you have glass and sheetmetal to sell off.....

I've had several friends that had them and they sure look good when finished out. Even tho you didn't ask, I like them "chromeless" on the outside, except for the grill and bumpers, with a level but lower than stock stance and "BLACK". Please keep us updated on your plans and progress and Good Luck with it.

Thanks it has little chrome on it and factory color is black. Right now I have been trying to researching the front suspension I don't know how well it will handle with the original front suspension. It has a 57 Chevy rear nd is set up for a sbc already. I know I want to add a few things to make it comfortable to drive like AC, CC, Tilt column with shifter. I need to find out what will work with minimal modifications. I think it would look great with a slight rake, vintage torque thrush wheels, white interior. I am always open to idea's and suggestions.

I was talking to my wife about buying a donor car with all the options I wanted but she kind of nixed the idea and said to scrounge what I needed. I am lucky that it has a 57 Chevy rear and already set up for a sbc. I don't know if my welding skills are good enough to weld in a clip from a donor car yet.

Hey, welcome Carolina Man!! It appears you're living in the city of my alma mater and about 40+ miles from my hometown.
It will be fun to see what you do with the old Chevy! Please take lots of pics as you go!

Wow! Much of Oklahoma is known as a source for nice, rust free used cars because the winters are not as bad and they don't salt the roads. You picked a challenge!! Are the fenders & hood laying there too? Welcome to CHR, by the way.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Could it be a 10114182? If so, it is a Gen V 454, 4 bolt 1991 (or later). Hope that helps..
