I sold two 56 Packards last year. The V8 was a great engine. It really moved that heavy car. It should be awesome in the Henry J. The Clipper engine is 320 c.i. and the Clipper "Custom" and "Caribbean" are 352 c.i. It has a 4" bore and a 3.5 stroke.
A detuned version of the Packard 320 was used in Hudson Hornets and Nash Ambassadors in 1955.
The August 1955 issue of hot rod magazine has a detailed five page article about the Packard V8s by Racer Brown titled "How potent is Packards V8?". I can scan it and email it if you can't find a copy on ebay.
