    'Nother newbie

Hi folks. I'm married with two kids and I'm rapidly approaching the half-century mark. I found your site while looking for info on 4.6L Ford swaps. Yep, another blue blood Ford fan! I'm doing a resto-mod on a 68 Ranchero.....bet there's not another Ranchero here. I know there are lots of other engines with a whole lot more "cool" to them but I like to be different and besides, I love the power and gas mileage my Interceptor gets. I'm building a driver not a pristine show car so I have to apply logic here. So if there are any other 4.6L swaps here I'd love to see pics and maybe ask for a few tips.
I am also helping an uncle with his 36 Ford pick-up project. Don't even ask what he's powering it with........I'd surely be kicked out of here. Lots of FINE machines I've seen here, hope I can fit in here on my budget.

Thanks for the welcome. I actually did a search for "Ranchero" and found there were some here. Love the look of that chop-top 67. Had to do a chop job on mine, not by choice but necessity. I have some good "before & after" pics.....but the after is still the before. Maybe I should call them the "before before" and "before after".......hmmmmm. Since I'm new I'll withold any "bowtie" response, I'll leave that to Dave for now.

Wanna be Bowtie guy!!!! me?????? Nothin but Pure Blue Oval thoughts in this mind. Geez Streets, that's worse than sayin bad things about a guys mom!!! Someday one of these Blue Ovals gonna have to meet up with dat chebbie powered t-pail.

Anyway, welcome to CHR. Anxious to see some pics of your Ranchero. Thought about going to the mod motor on mine, but changed to a 532 with a tunnel ram. Still need to find a line on a 5 speed for it.

As for Streets, it's ok. He just forgot his meds and or been nippin on the cuttin oil again. Soon the fellas from the home will be along to take him back to his room.

Well......somewhere I saw a "Before & after" section but I cant find it now so I'll just throw a couple on here. If this works it's a "before-before" pic. Body work by "Mr.18-wheeler"

    Fixed on road daily.
    Found on road dead.
F%$3@* over rebuilt dodge. ( based on 93-95 Dodge trucks )

    Or even one backwards
    Driver returns on foot.

Now, I will be using a Ford 302 in my Benz' Conversion next year but, that's only because a Chevrolet 350 is to BIG to fit without major modification.

No offense but, Ford engines are to confusing for me, I don't know what a FE is or, how to tell the diffrence between a 351 Clevland and a 351 Windsor, or even if there is a diffrence but, I can tell you that a Chevy 350 has a stock bore of 4" and a stroke of 3.48".
