Welcome aboard - we do try to have some fun!!
OK - Your '52-'54 Ford. First of all, the easiest way to tell them apart at a glance if it's a shell with a frame - the '54 had a 'unique' front suspension. That's the first year for ball joints, replacing king pins. There is also a tubular cross member under the engine. Beyond that, almost everything else is interchangeable. As far as a '52-'52, only the VIN and trim level. Most '53's had some different side trim.
Now - other parts. The exhaust is identical '52-'56 (cheap dual exhaust system) from the muffler back. If you install a 'Y' block, you can use everything from the manifold. Differentials - same though an axle change was made in 55/56, but it would be a good opportunity to put a stronger one in, i.e. an 8/9 incher. Body parts - identical, '52/'54 though the dash is different (the top of a '54 over the speedo is usually open, covered with colored clear plastic for illuminationDave W
I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug
I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
