Hello all. I've just started learning how to work on the older vehicles and am looking forward to reading through some of the other posts here. I've got a 81 Chevy C30 dually, Camper Special and am trying to anyone who has experience with these trucks. Luckily, this truck is already in great condition. I bought it off eBay and drove it from Kentucky to South Carolina with no problems.

I've started with the basic Haynes/Chilton books, but have quickly realized they don't cover much in the way of the HD trucks (even though GM considered anything 1-ton and lower a light duty back then). Am looking for the Service Manuals on eBay right now.

If anyone has any good web sites that get into these trucks, I'd love to find them - otherwise I'll read everything I can up here.

    Street -

Not much snow in South Carolina, so I'm not too worried about that.

What do I want to know??? To start with, are there any shop manuals besides the GM Service Manuals? I looked through the Haynes/Chilton books I have to get started on replacing the brake pads and it looked just my other truck - compress the piston, remove the allen bolts, etc..

I took a peek behind the wheel and noticed there weren't any allen bolts (unless they are severly covered in gunk)????

    Thanks,
    Steve O
