It was Speights.
Speights Old Dark from memory.
And it was good.
But any beer you haven't paid for yourself tastes good!

Always had a vw of some sort in the garage and also for the last 2 1/2 years i've been sharing a workshop with a mate who has a vw restoration business.
Makes for an interesting open day. When we do have them the carpark always has a good mixture of vw's and hotrods.

Cheeky spinner,you..Rice pudding,,,you know what you can do with that....

Taranaki Ale and Leopard.
Both pretty well undrinkable.
When I was a young fella I asked my Dad, "Daddy, what's the best beer to drink?"
His reply?
"The closest my boy, the closest."

Cant believe you drank it Johnboy. Im coming back next year... nevermind, i'll bring more and a few extras.

Funny thing, straight after the quake the missus started walking home from the hospital. She had to walk past the brewery that had spilled its guts. So while wading through a nice mixture of liquifaction, sewage and beer she suddenly had visons of Homer Simpson, doing backstroke in it.

Hey guys,we will have our brothers in the USA thinking we are all soaks over here, but can anybody remember Southland Bitter,yack,one would not even use it as parts cleaner.

The Taranaki ale was the standard drink on offer when I visited the Naki.
I guess now, that they never drank it themselves, but saved it for visitors.
Now Leopard Lager. That, my friends, was a real drink ..
I consumed so much of it over the years that I think I owned the brewery ..
