thanks for the warm welcome. I'll post up some pics soon and I still need to toss together some kind of profile.
thanks for the wttw (word to the wise) on the FNG stuff. I didn't realize that Fairly New Guy would be offensive...LOL.
One of the features of 'that other site' that I don't appreciate is the gratuitously gutter language that seems to permeate half the posts. I've even been warned off for saying something derogatory to those with the potty-mouth postings.
I will learn to appreciate all segments of the car hobby, RRs and TQs included I suppose - after all, not everybody was as enamored with my hot rods in the 50s (including parents of girlfriends) as we were.

Welcome dj,
I kinda lean your way when it comes to taste in cars. Although I have seen and appreciate some well built rods that were described as Rat Rods, I don't care much for those that were just slopped together and are real death traps on wheels. Also, the TQs built for big $$ by pro shops don't hold much interest for me but I still realize their importance to the evolution and technical advancements of the rodding world. Can't wait to see some pics of your projects.
Jack.
P.S. The 34 in my avitar I have owned since 1966 and is in the process of a re-dowww.clubhotrod.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44081

DJ,
Thanks for being understanding. Some "fairly new guys" have gone from that initial message into a new post with trashy language throughout and then get upset when their thread is quickly deleted. Several guys have youngsters or grand kids that wander through the forum from time to time, as well as some lady members who may not appreciate the gutter talk.
And BTW, I share your likes/dislikes on types of rides. I was just pointing out that we don't run down anyone for their ride - different strokes, different folks.... We'll look forward to seeing yours, and when you do post pictures if you reduce the pixel size to no bigger than 1024x768 (some say 600x400 is plenty big) everyone can read the post without scrolling across several screens for the text.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
