The obstacles you mention (funds, knowledge, etc) sound very familiar. Most of us are, or were there at one time. When you have other prioritys for your time and money you have to be creative to handle those and still pursue building your dream. Took me 6 years to build mine, but was worth the wait in the end.
You will get there.

i've enjoyed the years here . made a lot of friends. most who have left. i see no reason to continue with this so hope to see you somewhere else. i dont think this site will ever be back. it's lived...
