I'm buliding a '34 Ford steel Roadster. Started with a given-up project 3 years ago, the body now starts to look like something.

Hey Staleg, welcome to CHR. How are things in the old homeland?? Used to love to listen to my great grandpa tell stories of life in Norway. The 34 looks great, lets us know if you need help finding any goodies for it.

The plans for the car is on a level witch risen the chances for it to be finished. I've seen og heard of too may fantasy-stories and don't want to walk in the same trap.

350 cid Chevy engine
5 sp manual trans.
8" rear axle.
Mercedes discbrakes in all corners.
Heidt's look alike front suspesion from a swedish company called Info Design.
Hi boy small front fenders.
Bobbed rearfenders.
Du Vall windshield.
Louvers on hood and hoodsides.
Rebuild design on canal in front of the doors and on the hoodsides (already done. See the enclosed pictures.)
16x8" front rims and 17x10" rear rims.
Low style, but not extremely low.
Maybee some really fat vulgar outsiders exhaust!
Visible doorhandles, visible door higes, a thin crome stripe from the tip on middle of the Du Vall windshield and forward about halfway on the hood.

Color: black.

Of course there is always negative things to say about ones country and there is always things one would have changed, but Norway is not a bad country to live in.

I remember in '83 me(16 years old) and my parents wisited relatives in Canada. One of the older of them were SO surprised when we told her Norway had television too! And telephones!!!

She had some rabbits in her garden, and asked if I EVER had seen somethins SO strange! My respect for Canadian citizen's knowlegde about the rest of the world dropped to a very low level....

But of course there are a lot of different people!

By the way I live in the very south of Norway. Because of the Golfstream Norway has a warm climate compared to other countries on the same latitide.
A friend of mine who have traveled a lot in the US told me that Southern Norwegian climate is about the same as Seattle.
Not exactly Soputhern Califorina of course, but nice varm summers and winters to live with.

Hey Staleg, If you have not gotten the disc brakes yet, A good donar car for these are the 240D's, They have 4wd disc brakes and a seperate drum brake on top of the rear discs for the E brake. I have a 83' 240D and my dad has an 83' 240D and we are amazed at how well these car's stop. there are wires that go in the pads for sensors that, tell the brake light to come on when the brakes are worn ( don't know how it works ), you could use the sensory system in your 34' by getting all of that out of the Benz, the sensors are very, very accurate.

I know about the Mercedes brakes, but the reason for me to use them in the first palce was because they build very nice and good front ends here in Scandinavia where they use Mercedes spindles. The parts are easy to find and the bolt pattern is the same as Chevrolet.

The car will also a lot easier pass the local traffic authority when it's the same breaking system all the way around.

I tried to post a question under another thread and managed to mess ut up by posting a new post under my long ago presentation.
For som reason I wasn't allowed to edit my own post (You americans certanly dont' trust strangers these days, do you!) ;)

By the way. I'm searching for a T56 manual trans for the '34.
Must be a 92-97 model fitted for LT1 engines.

There are too many bad guys out there ready to collect my money without sending goods in return, so if you honest guys think two pedals are enough, but know about a nice, used T56, let me know!

I can't afford to buy a new one, and I can purcase a used one with guarantee here in Norway for app 1700$.
But I have seen Ebay auctions ended on 1000-1200$.
For some reason they don't want bidders from abroad.
